4那時,有大夥群眾聚集了來,並有從各城來到耶穌跟前的,他就用比喻說:4And when a very great multitude was gathered together, and hastened out of the cities unto him, he spoke by a similitude.
5「有一個撒種子的,出去撒種子;他撒的時候;有的落在路旁,就被踐踏了,並有天上的飛鳥把它吃了。5The sower went out to sow his seed. And as he sowed, some fell by the way side, and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air devoured it.
6有的落在石頭上,一長起來,就乾枯了,因為沒有濕氣。6And other some fell upon a rock: and as soon as it was sprung up, it withered away, because it had no moisture.
7有的落在荊棘中,荊棘同它一起長起來,把它窒息了。7And other some fell among thorns, and the thorns growing up with it, choked it.
8又有的落在好地裡,長起來,結了百倍的果實。」他說完這些話,就高呼說:「有耳聽的,就聽罷!」8And other some fell upon good ground; and being sprung up, yielded fruit a hundredfold. Saying these things, he cried out: He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
9他的門徒問他這比喻有什麼意思。9And his disciples asked him what this parable might be.
10他說:「天主國的奧秘,是給你們知道的;對其餘的人,就用比喻,使那看的,卻看不見;聽的,卻聽不懂。10To whom he said: To you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God; but to the rest in parables, that seeing they may not see, and hearing may not understand.
11這比喻的意思是種子是天主的話。11Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.
12那些在路旁的,是指那些人聽了,隨後就有魔鬼來到,從他們心中把那話奪去,使他們不至信從而得救。12And they by the way side are they that hear; then the devil cometh, and taketh the word out of their heart, lest believing they should be saved.
13那些在石頭上的,是指那些人,他們聽的時候,高興地接受那話,但這些人沒有根,暫時相信,一到試探的時候,就退避了。13Now they upon the rock, are they who when they hear, receive the word with joy: and these have no roots; for they believe for a while, and in time of temptation, they fall away.
14那落在荊棘中的,是指那些聽了的人,還在中途就被掛慮、錢財及生活的逸樂所蒙蔽,沒有結出成熟的果實。14And that which fell among thorns, are they who have heard, and going their way, are choked with the cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and yield no fruit.
15那在好地裡的,是指那些以善良和誠實的心傾聽的人,他們把這話保存起來,以堅忍結出果實。15But that on the good ground, are they who in a good and perfect heart, hearing the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit in patience.
16沒有人點上燈,用器皿遮蓋住,或放在床底下的,而是放在燈台上,為叫進來的人看見光明。16Now no man lighting a candle covereth it with a vessel, or putteth it under a bed; but setteth it upon a candlestick, that they who come in may see the light.
17因為沒有隱藏的事,不成為顯露的;沒有秘密的事,不被知道而公開出來的。17For there is not any thing secret that shall not be made manifest, nor hidden, that shall not be known and come abroad.
18所以,你們應當留心要怎樣聽;因為凡有的,還要給他;凡沒有的,連他自以為有的,也要從他奪去。」18Take heed therefore how you hear. For whosoever hath, to him shall be given: and whosoever hath not, that also which he thinketh he hath, shall be taken away from him.

Leonard Bernstein's "Poem for Yom Kippur"

From the left and from the right I hear: “We have sinned, we have dealt treacherously, we have slandered.”  But I hear another song in my heart: I believe in the truthfulness of art In being energetic, in being sensitive, in the essentials  Today I believe in prayerfulness I believe in the man to come who will give water to the barren areas But first and foremost I believe in Love  And until we stop shedding blood I live in a dream Waiting for the day of love (and), understanding, the day (today).

As we await the start of Yom Kippur at sundown tonight, take a moment to read Leonard Bernstein's "Poem for Yom Kippur" which he wrote in the late 1940s while studying Hebrew in Tel Aviv.


In the late 1940s, Leonard Bernstein wrote three poems in Hebrew for Yona Shamir, while studying with him in Tel Aviv.

“Poem for Yom Kippur,” read below by actress Laila Robins, captures Bernstein’s devotion to and struggle with his Jewish identity and faith.

Yom Kippur is the holiest day in the Jewish year. Also known as the Day of Atonement, Yom Kippur is solemnly celebrated 10 days after Rosh HaShanah (the Jewish New Year).

For all celebrating, tzom kal — have a safe and easy fast.

From the left and from the right I hear:

Today I believe in prayerfulness
I believe in the man to come
who will give water to the barren areas
But first and foremost I believe in Love

And until we stop shedding blood
I live in a dream

Yom Kippur (/ˌjɒm kɪˈpʊər, ˌjɔːm ˈkɪpər, ˌjm-/;[1] Hebrewיוֹם כִּיפּוּר‎, IPA: [ˈjom kiˈpuʁ], or Hebrewיום הכיפורים‎, romanizedYom HaKippurim), also known as the Day of Atonement, is the holiest day of the year in Judaism. Its central themes are atonement and repentanceJews traditionally observe this holy day with a day-long fast and intensive prayer, often spending most of the day in synagogue services.



贖罪日希伯來語יום כיפור‎)是在希伯來曆提斯利月之第十天,也是敬畏之日(Yamim Noraim)之一。是猶太人每年最神聖的日子,當天會全日禁食和恆常祈禱。據稱是上帝透過摩西亞倫,要求猶太人遵守的。舊約明載贖罪節的規定:「以色列要永遠尊守下列條例。每年七月初十,以色列人和住在他們中間的外僑必須禁食,不准工作。那一天要行贖罪禮,潔淨他們,使他們得以在上主面前潔淨……這些條例必須永遠遵守。」(利未記16章29至34節)

33為至聖所,為會幕和祭壇行取潔禮,為眾司祭和全會眾人民行贖罪禮。
34每年一次,應為以色列子民,為他們的種種罪過行贖罪禮:這為你們是永久的法令。」人就依照上主吩咐梅瑟的做了。

聖母經(英語:Hail Mary;拉丁語:Ave Maria)

 

聖母經(英語:Hail Mary拉丁語Ave Maria)是羅馬天主教耶穌的母親聖母瑪利亞代為我們罪人祈求天主的傳統祈禱文。是在中古世紀發展出來的。

前段是天使向瑪利亞說的話和瑪利亞表姐依撒伯爾聽到瑪利亞向她請安,胎兒在她腹中歡躍。依撒伯爾充滿聖神後的言詞。

1:28 天使進去向她說:「萬福! 充滿恩寵者,上主與妳同在!」

1:41 依撒伯爾一聽到瑪利亞請安,胎兒就在她的腹中歡躍。依撒伯爾遂充滿了聖神,

1:42 大聲呼喊說:「在女人中妳是蒙祝福的,妳的胎兒也是蒙祝福的。

1:43 吾主的母親駕臨我這裡,這是我那裡得來的呢?

1:44 看,妳請安的聲音一入我耳,胎兒就在我腹中歡喜踴躍。

1:45 那信了由上主傳於她的話必要完成的,是有福的。」

1:46 瑪利亞遂說: 「我的靈魂頌揚上主,

1:47 我的心神歡躍於天主, 我的救主,

1:48 因為衪垂顧了衪婢女的卑微,今後萬世萬代都要稱我有福;

1:49 因全能者在我身上行了大事,衪的名字是聖的,

1:51 衪伸出了手臂施展大能,驅散那些心高氣傲的人。

1:52 衪從高座上推下權勢者,卻舉揚了卑微貧困的人。

後段是教會請聖母代為我們罪人祈求天主。
